Key signature
Definition and background:
The sharp, flat, or natural signs placed at the beginning of a staff indicating the tonality of the composition. The arrangement of accidentals at the beginning of a staff. The key signature indicates the pitches that will be most common in a piece of music. Key signatures are associated with particular major and minor scales.the way the key of any piece is denoted in the written score. all sharps or flats for the scale of that key are shown on the staff at the beginning of each line of music and whenever the key changes, throughout the score
